axaforce It's difficult to have such diversity in sound design between tracks but also be a totally cohesive journey as an album.
Luckily 空YAMAHA is able to pull off this feat flawlessly!

This is complex, layered and mature in its composition and execution.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Myst style journey this album inspired in my imagination.

Magical. Favorite track: Into The Mirror.

Watermelon Banzai "The Mirage is the Portal" is a rather apt name, as the music is like an illusive gateway to another world; it feels so real and yet lasts only as long as the album's runtime.

Still, it all leaves you wanting more like a fleeting moment of astral projection as your consciousness leaves your body and then returns.

While I'm trying my best to put my emotional experience(s) into words, it's honestly quite difficult as this music is truly meant to be felt rather than outright explained so plainly. Favorite track: Terra Nova.

The desert appears in many spiritual texts, and is also part of the archetypal "hero's journey." The term "going through the desert" is often used to mark a place where one must be alone with themselves without prospects on the horizon, resources appear scarce and the mind is susceptible to hallucinations. The mirage appears like a cruel joke on the journey, and many points of fear and defeat are encountered along the way.

Influenced heavily by visual and cinematic surrealism, " The Mirage is the Portal" exists on the continuum of the Inner World's Universe and portrays the strange and bizarre encounters of awakening. It signifies a turning point to gaining more clarity within the illusionary forces that surround oneself.

Taking influences from 1960's spaghetti westerns and the works of Enrio Marricone, as well as 1990s adventure puzzle games, Madonna's Frozen era, and the Hare Krishna movement in the 1960s, "The Mirage is the Portal" is a surrealistic and transpersonal experience I hope guides you on your own journey, whether you are just beginning or emerging from the desert, may the moments in between, the stillness of clouds, the promise of rain and lands beyond, fill you with the hope and inspiration.
